LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Susan Kambrich upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition as Head of School of the Wood-
land Hill Montessori School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the efforts
of those individuals in the teaching profession who distinguish them-
selves in their dedication and commitment to their students; and
WHEREAS, Susan Kambrich has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Susan Kamb-
rich upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition as
Head of School of the Woodland Hill Montessori School, in conjunction
with the School's 50th Anniversary, to be celebrated at a Gala on Satur-
day, May 2, 2015, at 90 State Events, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Susan Kambrich earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood
Education from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio; she then went on to
receive a School Building Leader Certificate of Advanced Studies from
the College of St. Rose, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A firm believer in Dr. Maria Montessori's maxim that every
child is a unique individual who needs to be respected, admired, and
unconditionally accepted as a precious gift of life, Susan Kambrich
trained to be a Montessori Teacher at Washington Montessori Institute in
Washington, D.C.; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Susan Kambrich was AMI Montessori certified
to teach children of ages 6-12, and AMS certified as a Montessori Admin-
istrator; in addition, she is a New York State certified Principal; and
WHEREAS, From 1995-2000, Susan Kambrich held the position of Lower
Elementary Head Teacher at the Montessori School of Albany, now known as
Woodland Hill Montessori School; and
WHEREAS, In 2000, Susan Kambrich became the Head of School of Woodland
Hill Montessori School; under her luminous leadership, she has overseen
the addition of the Middle School and Toddler programs, and has included
parent-education events on the school schedule; and
WHEREAS, In addition, in 2002, Susan Kambrich managed the purchase of
both the land and building of the current school in East Greenbush, New
York; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her two children, Caroline and
Katie, both of whom graduated from the Woodland Hill Montessori School,
who feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Susan Kambrich has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career thus far, Susan Kambrich has brought an
uncompromising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of
caring and concern to every young person she educates; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Susan Kambrich upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition as Head of School of the Woodland Hill Montessori School;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Susan Kambrich.
