LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Adirondack
Community Action Programs, Inc. on April 23, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment whose
endeavors have a significant impact on the lives of others and the
communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Adirondack Community Action Programs, Inc.
to be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at High Peaks Resort in
Lake Placid, New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1965, Adirondack Community Action Programs
Inc. (ACAP) provides services to and advocacy for low-income families
throughout Essex County; its employees work diligently with families in
the community to eliminate the effects of poverty and encourage self-
sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Part of a network of 1,000 Community Action Agencies nation-
wide, ACAP is committed to providing comprehensive services to children,
adults, seniors and families; and
WHEREAS, ACAP's philosophy is to look at the strengths and values
possessed by each person, as well as its relationship with families in
the communities, as it changes and grows to meet their needs; and
WHEREAS, Today, ACAP continues to mobilize resources and integrate
programs and donations in an effort to best serve its clients; and
WHEREAS, On the auspicious occasion of its 50th Anniversary, this
Legislative Body is proud to have the opportunity to applaud the good
works and worthy endeavors of ACAP, and to honor its members past and
present for their unremitting dedication to service and their distin-
guished record of accomplishment; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Adirondack Community Action
Programs, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Adirondack Community Action Programs, Inc.
