LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Linda Baker, Ph.D. upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2015 Saratoga Springs Good Scout
Award

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its tradi-
tions, this Legislative Body is proud to honor Linda Baker, Ph.D. upon
her designation as the recipient of the Good Scout Recognition Award by
the Saratoga District of the Twin Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America,
to be celebrated at the Downtown Saratoga Holiday Inn, on Thursday,
April 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Linda Baker has been called upon to contribute both her time
and talents to countless civic endeavors and has given of herself
unselfishly as the Board Chair for the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park,
as the community chair of Greater Saratoga Area Girl Scouts and as
Director of GSNENY's Girls Scout Training Academy, and also as a Boy
Scout volunteer locally, regionally and nationally; and
WHEREAS, Linda Baker's dedication to her community and to scouting has
had a lasting impact on the greater Saratoga Springs community; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Linda Baker has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments come to our attention, they
should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Linda Baker, Ph.D. upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the Good Scout Award by the Saratoga District of the Twin Rivers
Council, Boy Scouts of America; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Linda Baker, Ph.D.
