LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Adirondack Animal Hospital upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Ethics in Business Award
by the Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
businesses within the State of New York which contribute to the economic
health and vitality of the communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Adirondack Animal Hospital upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Ethics in Business Award by the Adirondack Samaritan
Counseling Center, to be celebrated at its 4th Annual Awards Dinner on
Friday, May 1, 2015, at Hiland Park Country Club, Queensbury, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center, established in
1983, recognizes the connections of ethical behavior to the physical,
psychological and spiritual health of the community, as explored in the
story of the good Samaritan; the center affirms the influence of employ-
ment practices, business conduct and workplace conditions on mental
health; and
WHEREAS, In sponsoring the auspicious Ethics in Business Awards, the
Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center is promoting ethical practices in
Warren, Washington, Essex and Saratoga counties, encouraging local busi-
nesses, agencies and individuals to aspire to be considered for the
awards; and
WHEREAS, The Adirondack Animal Hospital truly deserves this auspicious
award for their stellar moral judgment and responsibility to all citi-
zens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, In 1937, Dr. Murray established Adirondack Animal Hospital on
Bay Road in the city of Glens Falls, and within a few years he moved it
to his farm on Ridge Road, where it is located to this day; the practice
transferred ownership a few more times until April of 1973, when Dr.
James Glendening purchased the hospital; and
WHEREAS, From its humble beginnings with a staff of three full-time
and two part-time employees, the Adirondack Animal Hospital has grown
into a thriving veterinary hospital; today, the renovated facility has
four doctors and a support staff of 20, and is equipped with state-of-
the-art medical and dental equipment to serve its loyal clientele; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Dr. James Glendening, the
doctors and staff at Adirondack Animal Hospital strive to offer the
highest quality care to its patients; as a team it pledges to always act
with compassion, respect, and honesty; and
WHEREAS, Adirondack Animal Hospital's goal is to strengthen and
enhance the bond that its clients share with their animal family
members, and to make every effort to educate and empower its clients so
they can in turn, provided optimally for their companions; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Adirondack Animal Hospital's success, recognizes its contributions
to the local and State economies, and extends its highest commendation
to Adirondack Animal Hospital and its employees, fully confident that,
in its future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Adirondack Animal Hospital upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Ethics in Business Award by the Adirondack Samaritan
Counseling Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. James Glendening, Owner, Adirondack Animal Hospital.
