LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring ACCO Brands upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Business of the Years Award by the
Sidney Chamber of Commerce on June 5, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and individuals whose purposeful endeavors, as
involved members of the community, enhance the quality of life therein;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor ACCO
Brands upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Business
of the Years Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated
at its annual dinner meeting on Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Sidney Elks
Lodge; and
WHEREAS, For more than 69 years, ACCO Brands and its predecessors have
been a large part of the Sidney community; a global company with a local
focus, this esteemed business currently employs over 630 people with
additional jobs to be added in 2015; and
WHEREAS, A representative from ACCO Brands has served on the Sidney
Chamber of Commerce for more than three decades; products produced for
outlets such as Target, Walmart, OfficeMax and Staples have been instru-
mental in putting Sidney, New York on the map; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unremitting commitment to the local
community, ACCO Brands has supported such organizations as the Cullman
Child Development Center, Sidney United Way, Operation Merry Christmas,
the Sidney Boys and Girls Club, Keith Clark Park, Upper Susquehanna
River Project, Sidney Veterans Park and the Sidney Chamber of Commerce;
and
WHEREAS, ACCO Brands truly value its employees, providing them with a
safe and modern work facility, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle,
providing both an energetic and vibrant work force; and
WHEREAS, The success of ACCO Brands is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been, charac-
terized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an
uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the
organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to recognize ACCO Brands for
their commitment and contributions to Sidney and its quality of life;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when businesses
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor ACCO Brands upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Business of the Years Award by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce on
June 5, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to ACCO Brands.
