LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Evy Rothman for her steadfast and unwav-
ering dedication to the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the State of
New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Evy
Rothman for her steadfast and unwavering dedication to the Plainview-Old
Bethpage School District; and
WHEREAS, Evy Rothman has given 21 years of continuous service to the
Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education, a volunteer elected position;
she also serves as President of the PTA Council in Plainview; and
WHEREAS, A tireless advocate for both the students and teachers of her
community, Evy Rothman has been instrumental in improving AP courses and
Special Education courses throughout the District, and actively partic-
ipates in numerous conferences; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Evy Rothman continually develops economically
tax friendly and efficient school budgets, as well as arts programs at
the middle schools and high school; she has been a strong voice for
children with special needs, has championed clubs that support the arts,
and has been involved with the many technological advancements in the
district; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent upon
individuals such as Evy Rothman, who dedicate their lives to nurturing
our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, Evy Rothman has clearly had an enduring impact on the youth
of the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District and the community at
large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for many impres-
sive years of dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Evy Rothman for her steadfast and unwavering dedication to the
Plainview-Old Bethpage School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Evy Rothman.
