LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Hudson
Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce on January 24, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those organizations which substantially contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 100th Anniversary of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of
Commerce, to be observed at its Centennial Celebration Anniversary Gala
at the Mansion at Colonial Terrace, Cortlandt Manor, New York, on Satur-
day, January 24, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Staying true to its motto since 1915, the Hudson Valley Gate-
way Chamber of Commerce has been "opening opportunities" by providing
services to businesses, residents and tourists; and
WHEREAS, For the past century, this esteemed organization has served
to encourage and support new businesses and professional opportunities,
facilitate new partnerships, and promote the growth of current busi-
nesses in the community; and
WHEREAS, Located in the heart of historic downtown Peekskill, the
Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce is comprised of members of the
community and local business leaders working together to promote econom-
ic growth and prosperity; it also serves as a Regional Tourism Informa-
tion Center for the thousands of visitors who come each year to the
Hudson Valley Gateway Region; and
WHEREAS, The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce has a long
history of success, with many milestones achieved through the dedication
and commitment of its officers, board of directors, and membership; and
WHEREAS, Through offering an exchange of ideas, as well as education
and advocacy on behalf of its members, the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber
of Commerce has fostered the growth and well-being of its membership,
and has enhanced the quality of life in the community; and
WHEREAS, A solid cornerstone of its region, the Hudson Valley Gateway
Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve as the leading resource
sought by the public for information about tourism, local events, and
business education for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional organization and its contributions to the local
and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the spar-
kling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
