LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the launch of the My Brother's
Keeper Alliance to help boys and young men of color

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, The newly established not-for-profit My Brother's Keeper
Alliance was formed to serve the interests of the people of the Bronx by
addressing the needs of boys and young men of color; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization brings together leaders from both the
public and private sectors to help bridge the opportunity gap and ensure
that all boys and young men of color living in America have an equal
chance to succeed; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to My Brother's Keeper Alliance; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the launch of the My Brother's Keeper Alliance to support
and sustain the creation of additional pathways to opportunity for boys
and young men of color; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to My Brother's Keeper Alliance.
