LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Town Clerk Marcia Hubbard upon the occa-
sion of her retirement after 35 years of distinguished service to the
Town of Hannibal
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 35 years, Marcia Hubbard has rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Hannibal; in her
capacity as Town Clerk, she has served with loyalty, honor and
distinction; she will officially retire on December 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Marcia Hubbard has been responsible
for receiving and/or distributing pertinent civil documents; in addi-
tion, she issued various passes/permits and licenses such as marriage,
hunting, fishing, dog, and handicapped parking; and
WHEREAS, In addition to serving as the Clerk for the Town of Hannibal,
Marcia Hubbard has served as the Clerk of the Village of Hannibal, and
has been employed as a bus driver for the last 28 years; and
WHEREAS, Originally from South Portland, Maine, Marcia Hubbard has
been a dedicated member of her community; she worked at the Library, and
managed the Hannibal Twirlettes, as well as volunteered for numerous
other Town and Village activities; and
WHEREAS, When she is not working, Marcia Hubbard enjoys reading,
baking, and solving Sodoku puzzles; she is also an avid sports fan,
cheering on the Boston Red Sox, watching Syracuse University Basketball,
and supporting Hannibal High School sports teams; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her four devoted children,
Ginger, Sheri, Terri, and Tim, and her cherished 10 grandchildren, all
of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Marcia Hubbard was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Town of Hannibal, Marcia Hubbard
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marcia Hubbard upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished service to the Town of Hannibal; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marcia Hubbard.
