LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Three Brothers Wineries and
Estates upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014
Business of the Year Award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Three Brothers Wineries and Estates upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as recipient of the 2014 Business of the Year Award by the Seneca
County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner Meet-
ing on Friday, January 23, 2015, at Ventosa Vineyards, Geneva, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates is located in Geneva, New
York, and is composed of three unique wineries and a microbrewery, all
on one estate; formerly known as Nagy's Newland Vineyards, Bloomfield
native and local businessman, David Mansfield and his wife Luanne Mans-
field purchased the business in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Each winery offers a unique ambiance and different experience
than the next, and while on the Estate, guests are free to wander its
grounds and explore all this exceptional business has to offer; and
WHEREAS, True to its mission, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates
provides its guests with a one-of-a-kind experience where they can learn
about the bounty of the Finger Lakes grape country and taste the outcome
of the harvest from its traditional viniferous wines, to sweet blended
wines and the world's first Riesling Ale; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates has
significantly increased its production of wine, and has grown from two
full-time employees to 16 full-time employees, as well as more than 80
part-time seasonal staff; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Partner and General Manager,
Erica Paolicelli, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates has become one of
the premier winery destinations in the Finger Lakes; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates opened one of
the first microbrew tasting rooms in Seneca County, and expanded its
commitment to clean energy with the expansion of its geothermal
heating/cooling systems; and
WHEREAS, Named to Rochester's Top 100 companies in 2014, Three Broth-
ers Wineries and Estates was also named Wine Region of the Year by the
prestigious WINE ENTHUSIAST MAGAZINE; and
WHEREAS, Also in 2014, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates opened a
second location at Eastview Mall in Victor, New York, and invested in
its infrastructure to manufacture its new Hard Apple Cider brand, Red
Apple Bombshell; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the company introduced Appleoosa Hard Cider
Slushie Mix, and completed phase three of its long-term construction
goals with the addition of four new buildings and a state-of-the-art
water filtration system; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast commitment to the community it so ably
serves, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates created the "Oh Yes You Can"
entrepreneur scholarship fund, and significantly contributes to local
charities and not-for-profits; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Three Brothers Wineries and Estates has a long-
standing association with Healing Art Missions, raising much needed
funds for medical outreach in the poorest areas of Haiti; a portion of
its shopping boutique is also dedicated to breast cancer awareness and
fundraising; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Three Brothers
Wineries and Estates of Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when busi-
nesses and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Three Brothers Wineries and Estates upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the 2014 Business of the Year Award by
the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Three Brothers Wineries and Estates, Geneva, New York.
