LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the African Advisory Council upon the
occasion of its designation for special recognition for its work with
the growing African population in the Bronx

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the African Advisory Council upon the occasion of its designation for
special recognition for its work with the growing African population in
the Bronx; and
WHEREAS, Since 2010, the African Advisory Council (AAC) has served the
interests of the people of the Bronx by working to meet the various
needs of the growing African population in their community; and
WHEREAS, For the last five years, the AAC has cultivated relationships
with African groups across New York City, encouraging both civic and
economic participation within the community; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to the African Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the African Advisory Council upon the occasion of its desig-
nation for special recognition for its work with the growing African
population in the Bronx; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the African Advisory Council.
