LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Nos Quedamos upon the occasion of its
designation for special recognition for its numerous years of service to
its community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Nos Quedamos upon the occasion of its designation for special recogni-
tion for its numerous years of service to its community; and
WHEREAS, Nos Quedamos has served the interests of its community by
providing invaluable community health, environmental sustainability, and
job development programs in an effort to better the lives of the resi-
dents of the South Bronx; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization and the Melrose Commons neighborhood
is the recipient of the LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND)
Stage II Silver Certification, the first recognition of its kind in New
York City; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to Nos Quedamos for its enduring dedi-
cation to promoting and advancing ideas of healthy and sustainable
growth, which has played an integral role in the continued development
of Melrose Commons, and fostered an economy in South Bronx which values
cohesion, and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Nos Quedamos upon the occasion of its designation for special
recognition for its numerous years of service to its community; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nos Quedamos.
