LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Concourse Village Elementary
School upon the occasion of receiving a $20,000 grant from the Verizon
Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of commitment and high achievement whose
purpose and endeavors prove a dedication to the pursuit of excellence in
the education of the youth of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Concourse Village Elementary School upon the occasion of receiving
a $20,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Concourse Village Elementary School, P.S. 359, received a
$20,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation's Innovative Learning Grants
program; the money will help P.S. 359 improve student achievement and
interest in its science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
programs by funding its burgeoning curriculum; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the grant will allow P.S. 359 to build on its
commitment to provide a safe and nurturing environment for its youth,
inspiring a new generation of technology leaders and entrepreneurs; and
WHEREAS, The steadfast and unyielding commitment of parents, educators
and administrators to provide the highest quality education for students
is the hallmark and tradition of Concourse Village Elementary School;
and
WHEREAS, The outstanding administration at Concourse Village Elementa-
ry School has fostered a learning environment which promotes the maximum
growth of every student, enabling each student to develop the vital
skills necessary to succeed throughout their later school years; and
WHEREAS, Concourse Village Elementary School is proudly aware of its
distinguished past, eager to fulfill its present commitment to parents,
students and the community, and planning with vision and purpose for the
ebb and swell of growth and change it will encounter in the years to
come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Concourse Village Elementary School upon the occasion of
receiving a $20,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Concourse Village Elementary School.
