LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the New American Alliance upon the
occasion of hosting its 15th Annual Wall Street Summit on October 27-29,
2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with its
time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those organiza-
tions which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural
diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York
State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the New
American Alliance upon the occasion of hosting its 15th Annual Wall
Street Summit on October 27-29, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1999, the New America Alliance (NAA) is an organ-
ization with a membership of prominent American Latino entrepreneurs and
business leaders who are committed to building on American Latino
success to forge a stronger America; and
WHEREAS, NAA is also focused on accelerating the socio-economic
progress of American Latinos by amalgamating, galvanizing, leveraging
and growing the Latino economic capital, political capital, human capi-
tal and philanthropic power personified by its members; and
WHEREAS, The New American Alliance aggregates its members' success,
experience, relationships, and passion to give back as it promotes Lati-
no leadership in entrepreneurship, corporate America, and public
service; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this vital organization increases Latino access
and control of capital and accelerates the rise of Latinas and the new
generation of American Latino leaders; and
WHEREAS, NAA believes that increasing American Latino access and
control of capital will result in more equitable involvement of its
community in managing and channeling resources and capital to address
the most pressing issues facing the community and nation, including
education and wealth creation; and
WHEREAS, The New American Alliance engages the White House, United
States Congress and Federal agencies on its access and control of capi-
tal agenda, as well as the promotion of American Latinos to key
appointed positions and the enactment of legislation that addresses
imperative economic issues, such as immigration reform; and
WHEREAS, NAA and its members endeavor to support the professional
growth of young leaders providing invaluable business advice, contacts
and other resources, in addition to high level access to decision makers
and agents of change; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, NAA continues to invest substantial funds in MBA
scholarships to advance the participation of Latinos in the financial
industry and distribution of capital; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 16 year history, the New American
Alliance has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and commu-
nities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the New American Alliance is in direct corre-
lation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and always
has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthu-
siasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the New American Alli-
ance; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the New American Alliance upon the occasion of hosting its 15th
Annual Wall Street Summit on October 27-29, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the New American Alliance.
