LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending FreshDirect for its ceaseless dedi-
cation to combatting health and environmental issues in the greater New
York City area

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those businesses which contribute to the economic health and
prosperity, and to the quality of life, of the communities of the State
of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
FreshDirect for its ceaseless dedication to combatting health and envi-
ronmental issues in the greater New York City area; and
WHEREAS, FreshDirect, an online grocer delivering fresh and healthy
foods to households in the greater New York City area, moved to the
South Bronx in 2014, creating hundreds of jobs for its residents and
increasing access to healthy food options; and
WHEREAS, This vital company's delivery of top-quality groceries and
fresh produces has been instrumental in combatting obesity and diabetes;
its future green transportatic fleet will reduce pollution in the Bronx;
and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, FreshDirect has demonstrated
continuous service to the residents and communities which it serves by
combatting both health and environmental issues and helping the economy
in the Bronx grow; and
WHEREAS, The success of FreshDirect is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its dedicated staff, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusi-
asm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to FreshDirect; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when businesses
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend FreshDirect for its ceaseless dedication to combatting health
and environmental issues in the greater New York City area; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to FreshDirect.
