LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eileen Gage upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Board Member of the
Year Award by Happiness House
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eileen Gage upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 Outstanding Board Member of the Year Award by Happiness House at
its 12th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction Event, to be held on Friday,
February 6, 2015, at Belhurst Castle, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Given annually, this auspicious award is presented to board
members who go above and beyond their duties as a volunteer, and whose
outstanding contributions and accomplishments are consistent with the
mission and vision of Happiness House; and
WHEREAS, Born in Staten Island, New York, Eileen Gage was raised by
her loving parents, Richard and Jean Jones; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Gage earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
and a Master's degree in Organizational Management; she currently serves
as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Finger Lakes Health;
her commitment to nursing is the driving force behind her dedication to
the care, education, and service provided by Happiness House; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Gage has been a dedicated volunteer on the Happiness
House Board of Directors for 10 years, as well as a member of the Foun-
dation Board since 2011; while serving as Board Chair from 2011-2014,
plans for the Transition Apartments and Happiness House Apartment House
Development Fund Company, Inc. came to fruition; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Eileen Gage has served on many committees
including Long Range Planning, Personnel and Finance; most recently, she
served as co-Chair of the Synergy Committee which worked through the
details of bringing Happiness House, CP Rochester and Happiness House
Foundation into a formal structure which ultimately will strengthen
their mission to offer opportunities to expand much needed services to
consumers throughout the Finger Lakes and Greater Rochester areas; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 39 years, Craig,
and three children, Dan, Melissa, and Heather, as well as six grandchil-
dren, Nolan, Cameron, Damon, Blake, Elise and Keegan, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Eileen Gage has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect
and admiration of her family, friends and community at large; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Eileen Gage has displayed throughout her
life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eileen Gage upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 Outstanding Board Member of the Year Award by Happiness House;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eileen Gage.
