LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Bartell
Machinery Systems, LLC on August 6, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 75th Anniversary of Bartell Machinery Systems, LLC on Thurs-
day, August 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Located in Rome, New York, Bartell Machinery Systems is a
global leader in providing highly engineered industrial manufacturing
equipment for the Tire and Rubber, Oil and Gas, and Wire and Cable
industries; and
WHEREAS, Bartell Machinery Systems has delivered innovative solutions
to leading manufacturers since its founding in 1940, and more than 8,500
machines have been installed worldwide; and
WHEREAS, This vital company was founded by Ernest Bartell, who opened
a small tool and die shop to service local wire and cable customers in
Rome, New York; in 1969, the business was purchased by National Stand-
ard, which consolidated Bartell with its Machinery Systems Division and
transferred its line of tire equipment to Rome; and
WHEREAS, The Bartell family repurchased the company in 1990, and oper-
ated it until 1999 when it was sold to its current owners, Heico Group
of Companies, based in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Bartell Machinery Systems offers the industry's most advanced
and proven tire bead machinery, systems for producing subsea oil and gas
flexible pipe, and innovative wire and cable machines; its products are
fully designed and rigorously tested to optimize safety, production
efficiency, operational reliability, and maximized asset life cycle; and
WHEREAS, Today, Bartell Machinery Systems has 160 employees and
services approximately 2,500 customers in North America, Europe and
Asia, as well as a core Technical Sales and Services team capable of
traveling anywhere in the world; and
WHEREAS, Bartell Machinery Systems is a proud member of the Rome Cham-
ber of Commerce and the Manufacturers Association of Central New York
(MACNY); Bartell also supports a wide variety of local police, fire
department and charitable activities; and
WHEREAS, After 75 years, Bartell Machinery Systems continues to set
new standards for quality, performance and value; with generations of
industry knowledge and engineering design experience coupled with its
world-class sales and technical service network, Bartell's employees are
dedicated to providing customers with state-of-the-art technologies
capable of meeting the most advanced production needs; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Bartell Machinery Systems' success, recognizes its contributions
to the local and State economies, and extends its highest commendation
to the corporation and its employees, fully confident that, in its
future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized its
past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Bartell Machinery Systems, LLC on
August 6, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bartell Machinery Systems, LLC.
