COMMENDING Cordelia A. Nwozuzu upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the
National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter on
March 26, 2017
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Cordelia
A. Nwozuzu upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter to be celebrated at
its Dreams of Greatness Gala on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Westbury
Manor in Westbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to individuals who have
demonstrated exemplary work, services, and commitment to the people of
their communities; Cordelia A. Nwozuzu deserves this honor for her
contributions to her neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The West Nassau Chapter, under the able leadership of
District Chairperson, Pastor Emmanuel Asse, continues the mission of NAN
which fulfills a vital role in moving our Nation forward; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 28, 1948, in Lagos, Nigeria, Cordelia A.
Nwozuzu graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in
Economics and Business Administration upon immigrating to the United
States; she went on to earn a Master's degree in both Special Education
and Guidance Counseling, as well as an Advanced Certificate in School
Administration and Supervision; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to education,
Cordelia A. Nwozuzu spent her illustrious career as a high school math,
social studies and special education teacher within the New York City
Public School System; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Dr. Emmanuel
Nwozuzu, and their four children, Max, Kelechi, Emeka and Ada, all of
whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Cordelia A. Nwozuzu upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cordelia A. Nwozuzu.
