Senate Resolution No. 1025

COMMENDING the 60-year practitioners for their six
decades of dedicated service to the Bar Association
of Nassau County on May 13, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those singular individuals who devote their purposeful
lives and careers to preserving the rights and protecting the welfare of
the citizens of their community and the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the 60-year practitioners for their six decades of dedicated
service to the Nassau County Bar Association at its 118th Annual Dinner
Dance of the Association on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Marriott
Hotel in Uniondale, Long Island; and
WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding citizens of New York State
who, through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to
better the quality of life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, The 60-year members include: Sheldon Amsler, The Honorable
M. Hallsted Christ, Leonard S. Clark, Daniel S. Cohan, James M. Furey,
Elizabeth A. Guiman, William C. Jung, Charles R. Kleinhardt, Thomas M.
Lamberli, and Irving Lerner; and
WHEREAS, With quiet dignity, kindness and grace, these exceptional
public servants have served as tireless advocates for the less
fortunate, a strong voice for the voiceless, and an inspiration to their
colleagues, to scores of volunteers, and to countless others who labor
in pursuit of equal access to justice for all; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their professional and
community service, a period of constructive involvement, these
remarkable individuals have stood constant in dignity, good grace and
humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the 60-year practitioners for their six decades of dedicated
service to the Bar Association of Nassau County on May 13, 2017; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned honorees.
