Senate Resolution No. 1108

HONORING Marie Rabin upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Women's
Business Center at Canisius College on March 2, 2017
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marie Rabin
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Women's Business Center at Canisius College, celebrated at its IGNITE
2017 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Montante
Cultural Center, Canisius College, Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, The IGNITE 2017 Awards Luncheon allows small business
owners to make business connections that will help them further their
success; in addition, it celebrates the contributions these women, such
as Marie Rabin, make to the community; and
WHEREAS, Marie Rabin serves as Co-President of CARA Medical, a
medical equipment and supply dealer located in Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, From its humble beginnings on a dining room table in 1990,
CARA Medical has grown to become a familiar name to facilities,
municipalities, clinics and non-profit agencies across New York State;
and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Marie Rabin, CARA Medical
has demonstrated 27 years of continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of CARA Medical is in direct correlation to the
efforts of Marie Rabin, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Marie Rabin's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and businesses of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marie Rabin upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Women's Business Center at Canisius College on March
2, 2017; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marie Rabin.
