HONORING Ernie Masullo upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Lifetime
Achievement Award by the Evans-Brant Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Ernie Masullo has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ernie
Masullo upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2016
Lifetime Achievement Award by the Evans-Brant Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated on Saturday, March 25, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Ernie Masullo has always given of
himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Ernie Masullo recently retired as Chief of Police after 40
years of distinguished public service with the Evans Police Department;
throughout his illustrious tenure he emphasized the importance of
service to the community to his officers; and

WHEREAS, Moving to Evans, New York, in 1972 to raise his family,
Ernie Masullo served as a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Angola Fire
Department from 1973 to 1980; he was also an active member of the school
board of Lake Shore Central School District from 1992 to 1997; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Ernie Masullo volunteers with local youth sports, as well as
with senior citizens in the neighborhood who need assistance; in
addition, he gives of his time and energies to individuals with
disabilities and animal rescue organizations; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ernie Masullo has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Ernie Masullo has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Ernie Masullo, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ernie Masullo upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Evans-Brant Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ernie Masullo.
