HONORING Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd for 40 years
of faithful service as Pastor of the Dabar Bethlehem
Cathedral

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the
faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend Dr.
Stanley M. Kidd for 40 years of faithful service as Pastor of the Dabar
Bethlehem Cathedral to be celebrated on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the
Inn at New Hyde Park in New Hyde Park, New York, in conjunction with his
90th Birthday Party; and

WHEREAS, Born on March 25, 1927, in Jamaica, West Indies, Reverend
Dr. Stanley M. Kidd is the pioneer and overseer of Dabar Bethlehem
Cathedral, located in Queens Village, New York; and

WHEREAS, Ordained a minister by the National Council of the
Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd is affiliated
with Covenant Ministries International; he was also granted an honorary
doctorate degree from Anchor Theological Seminary and Bible Institute in
2001; and

WHEREAS, In 1968, Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd migrated to the
United States and in 1977, was led to pioneer Bethlehem Missionary
Church, Inc., which was established with three individuals in the living
room of his own home; and

WHEREAS, As time went on, the Church's congregation thrived in the
community of Queens Village and later, expanded to include a day care
center and a Bible College; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Reverend Dr. Stanley M.
Kidd, Bethlehem Missionary Church dedicated a new 600 seat sanctuary to
the Lord; this magnificent building was even recognized with the 2004
First Prize for Excellence in Design by the Queens Chamber of Commerce;
and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd passed on the
congregation to the bishop of Dabar Worship Center, merging them into
one successful congregation, Dabar Bethlehem Cathedral; and

WHEREAS, With a deep desire to help the community, Reverend Dr.
Stanley M. Kidd, led missionary teams on trips to Israel, the United
Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, Dominica, Antigua, Nevis, St. Kitts,

Grenada, Guyana, Trinidad, Tobago and Belize as well as supported
several missionaries in Africa and the Caribbean islands; and

WHEREAS, Known as a man of humility and integrity, Reverend Dr.
Stanley M. Kidd is highly respected among his peers and hosts monthly
Pastoral Fellowships to strengthen and encourage other pastors in their
work; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd has brought to his ministry an
overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and
professional integrity and dedication; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished man of God has always given
enlightenment, guidance and wisdom to the many entrusted to his care and
has administered abundantly and unstintingly to the spiritual and
corporal needs of all; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that
individual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd for 40 years of faithful service as
Pastor of the Dabar Bethlehem Cathedral, noting his unremitting and
compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God, man, and his
community, and extending to him heartfelt best wishes for a very Happy
90th Birthday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Dr. Stanley M. Kidd.
