COMMENDING Dr. Nidal Isber upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by St.
Nicholas Home, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire
State with their strong contributions to the community and model
citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Nidal Isber upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by St. Nicholas Home, Inc. to be celebrated at its Annual
Gala on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at The Vanderbilt in Staten Island,
New York; and
WHEREAS, An alumnus of Damascus University, Damascus, Syria, Dr.
Nidal Isber has been an important force in the field of Cardiac
Electrophysiology in this country; since 1999, he has held the position
of Director of Cardic Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services at St.
Vincent's Catholic Medical Center in New York City, and Richmond
University Medical Center, Staten Island, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nidal Isber has served as the President of the National
Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) New York Chapter from 2009 to
2012; in this capacity, he focused on the academic and education aspects
of the association, and created and commenced the first issue of the
NAAMA Medical Newsletter; and
WHEREAS, A major influence in the field of Cardiac
Electrophysiology, Dr. Nidal Isber is an inspiration to his colleagues;
a model physician, he has devoted his lifetime to learning and caring
for his patients and for that, he is held in the highest regard by his
peers as a physician of excellence and as a leader in the field; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his extraordinary career in Medicine, Dr.
Nidal Isber received the American Heart Association Award; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Dr. Nidal Isber has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Nidal Isber upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by St. Nicholas Home, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Nidal Isber.
