CONGRATULATING Wilbur R. Renskers upon the
occasion of celebrating his 100th Birthday
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great
Nation and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Wilbur R. Renskers of Clymer, New York, upon the occasion
of celebrating his 100th Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur R. Renskers was born on April 9, 1917, in Clymer,
New York, to loving parents, George and Mary Renskers; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur R. Renskers attended Clymer Central School and went
on to work as a Postal Clerk and Rural Mail Carrier for 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur R. Renskers proudly served his country from 1944 to
1946 in the European Theatre of World War II, and is owed a tremendous
debt of gratitude for his selfless service and sacrifice; freedom is
never free and it is heroes like him who have made it possible for all
Americans to live in the greatest country in the world; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur H. Renskers married the love of his life, Roberta,
and together they are the proud parents of a daughter Suzanne; and
WHEREAS, Today, Wilbur R. Renskers is the loving grandfather of one
grandson, Brent Rhebergen, and four great-grandchildren, Samantha,
Jarrett, Allison, and Riley; and
WHEREAS, In his spare time, Wilber R. Renskers enjoys attending
classic car shows, personally owning 88 cars, singing in groups as well
as a soloist, and writing poetry; he has been given the nickname, "The
Clymer Rhymer"; and
WHEREAS, Faithfully committed to his beliefs, Wilbur R. Renskers has
served as a member of his church's choir for an outstanding 75 years;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a
remarkable age and who have witnessed and celebrated the innovations,
cultural developments, and awesome achievements of this country during
the last century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Wilbur R. Renskers upon the occasion of celebrating his
100th Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Wilbur R. Renskers.
