HONORING Vincent R. Capasso upon the occasion of
his designation as a recipient of the Pro Bono Award
by The Legal Project on November 4, 2016

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Vincent R.
Capasso upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Pro
Bono Award by The Legal Project to be celebrated with a Luncheon on
Friday, November 4, 2016, at The Century House, Latham, New York; and

WHEREAS, Vincent R. Capasso is an associate attorney with the law
firm of Capasso & Associates, LLC in Schenectady, New York; he joined
the firm in 2016, after working as Staff Attorney and Pro Bono Services
Coordinator for Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii and as Deputy Public
Defender in Hilo, Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his current employment, Vincent R. Capasso
is the owner and sole member of the Law Offices of Vincent R. Capasso,
PLLC; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School
in 2000, Vincent R. Capasso attended college at Wake Forest University
in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, before completing his undergraduate
studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Union College
in 2006; and

WHEREAS, Vincent R. Capasso went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree in
2011, from Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Admitted to the practice of law by the Bars of the States
of Hawaii and New York, Vincent R. Capasso remains an active member of
the New York State Bar Association and the Schenectady County Bar
Association; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to giving back
to the community, Vincent R. Capasso is a member of The Legal Project's
Domestic Violence Legal Connection pro bono panel; furthermore, in March
of 2015, he graciously took on a complex custody and support case in
Family Court; and

WHEREAS, Vincent R. Capasso resides in Saratoga Springs, New York,
with his 21-month old daughter, Scarlett, whose birth remains his
proudest moment; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Vincent R. Capasso has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Vincent R. Capasso upon the occasion of his designation as a
recipient of the Pro Bono Award by The Legal Project on November 4,
2016; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Vincent R. Capasso.
