COMMEMORATING the 75th Anniversary of the
Wellsville Lions Club

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and
commemorate the proud and distinguished histories of organizations which
comprise the noble body of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Wellsville Lions Club; and

WHEREAS, The Wellsville Lions Club has served for 75 outstanding
years with more than $1.1 million going directly back to the community
to express their devotion to local citizens and improve the quality of
life for those who are handicapped, poor, elderly, and sick; and

WHEREAS, Under the direction of President Mark Finn, the Wellsville
Lions Club continues to demonstrate its profound commitment to the
community, and has a long track-record of exceptional contributions,
which include: along with Jones Memorial Hospital, the creation of the
Wellsville Diabetes Center; providing funding for the Wellsville
Ambulance Corporation's Building; providing resources necessary to fund
trailers for the Wellsville Ambulance Corporation and the Wellsville
Police Department; and collecting and redistributing thousands of eye
glasses to those most in need; and

WHEREAS, The Wellsville Lions Club has six historical markers placed
throughout the Village and are continually looking for more historical
sites to highlight and recognize; and

WHEREAS, Observing that special recognition should be given to those
organizations and businesses that work assiduously for the betterment of
their communities and should be acknowledged publicly for the good works
they do for the families and neighbors of the area; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor milestones in the history of communities both large
and small in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Wellsville Lions Club; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mark Finn, President of the Wellsville Lions Club.
