COMMENDING the Medical Society of the County of
Kings, Inc., the Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn,
and the Richmond County Medical Society upon the
occasion of hosting the 6th Annual Doctors'
Recognition Day on March 29, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations of distinction whose singular purpose is the care and
welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc., the Academy of
Medicine of Brooklyn, and the Richmond County Medical Society upon the
occasion of hosting the 6th Annual Doctors' Recognition Day on
Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Gargiulo's Restaurant of Coney Island in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion gives the Presidents of hospital
medical staff from various Brooklyn and Staten Island hospitals the
opportunity to honor several physicians who have continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in their unwavering service to their community and medical
profession; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc.
continues its original mandate to examine the credentials and license of
its members, and to encourage physicians to belong to an organization
that advocates for access to the highest standards of health care, while
continuing to plead for its member physicians; and
WHEREAS, The Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn is committed to
providing opportunities for improvement of education for the members of
the medical profession in the County of Kings; it also maintains a
medical library or an equivalent international system alone or in
conjunction with other educational institutions; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn
disseminates knowledge of scientific medicine to physicians, medical
students, allied health professionals and the public; they also strive
to serve the public's best interests; and
WHEREAS, The Richmond County Medical Society has been serving the
community of Staten Island for the past 200 years; included as members
are physicians of major hospitals, medical centers, medical groups, and
private practices on Staten Island; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc., the Academy of
Medicine of Brooklyn, and the Richmond County Medical Society upon the
occasion of hosting the 6th Annual Doctors' Recognition Day; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc., the
Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn, and the Richmond County Medical
Society.
