COMMENDING The Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio upon
the occasion of celebrating the 40th Anniversary of
his Ordination to the Priesthood

WHEREAS, The spiritual guidance and nurturing of the citizens of the
State of New York is of great importance to the vitality and well-being
of our communities; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those men and women of religious
commitment who accept the responsibility of moral leadership and render
the wisdom of human understanding; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio upon the occasion of
celebrating the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood;
and

WHEREAS, Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio was born to the late Mary
(Giansanti) and Angelo Angelicchio on July 28, 1951, in Rome, New York;
he attended both Harvey E. Alter School, and Staley Jr. High School, and
graduated from Rome Catholic High School in 1969; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio pursued his theological
studies at Holy Apostles Seminary in Crowell, Connecticut, and earned
his degree from St. Bernard's Seminary in Rochester, New York; and

WHEREAS, On May 7th, 1977, Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio was ordained
into the priesthood by Bishop Frank Harrison; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio has served
many congregations in various capacities including Parochial Vicar at
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Director and Founder of the Corcorn Faith
Center, Parochial Vicar at St. Ann's Church, Parochial Vicar at Our Lady
of Pompei Church, Pastor of Holy Family Church, and Pastor of Our Lady
of Pompei/St. Peter's Church; in addition, he held the title of Police
Chaplain for the City of Syracuse for 22 years; and

WHEREAS, Currently, The Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio is the Pastor
of St. John the Baptist and Transfiguration Church in Rome, New York; a
native son of the Church, he officiated his first Mass on May 8, 1977;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention, it
is appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that
individual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio upon the occasion of
celebrating the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood;
and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio.
