HONORING Mike Parsons upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Business Person
of the Year Award by the Greater Utica Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Mike Parsons upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2016 Business Person of the Year Award by the Greater Utica Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 31st Annual Event on Wednesday, May
24, 2017, at the Parish on Broadway, Utica, New York; and

WHEREAS, Mike Parsons has served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
First Source Federal Credit Union for the past 17 years; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Mike Parsons, First Source
Federal Credit Union has become one of the premier Financial
Institutions in the Mohawk Valley with five branches, a full-service
call center, and more than 40,000 members; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the
community, Mike Parsons has been instrumental in First Source becoming a
recognized influence in the Mohawk Valley; he has a sincere eagerness to
help and gives tirelessly to countless local organizations; and

WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Mike Parsons has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to both his community and
profession and consequently has been selected for this most prestigious
honor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Mike Parsons has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mike Parsons upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2016 Business Person of the Year Award by the Greater Utica Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mike Parsons.
