HONORING Emmanuel Zamor upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by Prisoners'
Legal Services on October 5, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Emmanuel Zamor has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Emmanuel
Zamor upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
Prisoners' Legal Services to be celebrated during its Annual Event for
National Pro Bono Week on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Albany Law
School, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Emmanuel Zamor has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York to Haitian Immigrants, Emmanuel
Zamor is a third year student at Albany Law School, and is passionate
about pursuing a career in Immigration Law; and

WHEREAS, During the summer of 2016, Emmanuel Zamor embraced the
opportunity to work with inmates from various prisons throughout New
York State seeking to participate in the Conditional Parole for
Deportation Only and the Early Conditional Parole for Deportation Only;
and

WHEREAS, Prior to his illustrious law school career, Emmanuel Zamor
worked with the less fortunate at the Homes for the Homeless shelter in
Jamaica, Queens, where he mentored young adults, assisted students with
homework, facilitated after-school programs, and volunteered his time
with the shelter's sports teams; and

WHEREAS, Currently a legal intern in the Immigration Clinic at
Albany Law School, Emmanuel Zamor, with a steadfast and unwavering
commitment to his hometown, remains heavily involved in serving the
community of Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Emmanuel Zamor has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Emmanuel Zamor has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our

attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Emmanuel Zamor upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Prisoners' Legal Services on October 5, 2016, and to wish
him continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Emmanuel Zamor.
