HONORING David Breth upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Do Your Best Award
by Cub Scout Pack 230 on March 31, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
David Breth upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Do
Your Best Award by Cub Scout Pack 230, celebrated at its Annual Blue and
Gold Dinner on Friday, March 31, 2017; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award is bestowed upon individuals who
exemplify, in daily life, the ideals of the Cub Scouts of America, as
expressed in the Scout Oath and Law; the recipients are chosen for their
outstanding community service through leadership, as well as for the
respect and esteem in which their colleagues hold them; David Breth is
one such individual; and

WHEREAS, For the last six years, David Breth has held numerous
leadership positions within Cub Scout Pack 230; affectionately known to
the Scouts as Leader Dave, he has always strived to Do his Best!; and

WHEREAS, Since 2014, Leader Dave has served as the Cubmaster of Pack
230, a position from which he is stepping down in 2017; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Leader Dave has enthusiastically
taught his Scouts to always be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, and clean, as well
as reverent; and

WHEREAS, Leader Dave has graciously given of his time and energies
and has served the best interests of his community for the last six
years; throughout the entire period of his service to Cub Pack 230, a
period of constructive involvement, he has stood constant in dignity,
good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
individuals who enhance the well-being and vitality of their community
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David Breth upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Do Your Best Award by Cub Scout Pack 230 on March 31, 2017; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to David Breth.
