COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of the Sullivan
Leisure Time Club on May 10, 2017

WHEREAS, In the course of the evolving development of this Empire
State, if the ingredients of shared concern and responsive endeavor
combine in the commitment to society, there have emerged among the
distinguished citizens of the State of New York certain organizations
which warrant special recognition; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Sullivan Leisure Time Club, to
be celebrated with a Dinner on Wednesday, May 10, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Founded in April of 1967, in Chittenango, New York, the
Sullivan Leisure Time Club is an organization which promotes
recreational and cultural activities for the benefit and welfare of the
senior adult residents of the community; and

WHEREAS, With more than 200 members representing the older adults of
the community, the Sullivan Leisure Time Club is open to any resident of
the Town of Sullivan age 60 years or beyond, or the younger spouse of a
member age 60 years or beyond; and

WHEREAS, The Sullivan Leisure Time Club has an active steering
committee that meets on a monthly basis to discuss current topics and to
assist the Town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Department in planning
and coordinating programs of interest to the membership; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 50 year history, the Sullivan
Leisure Time Club has demonstrated continuous service to the residents
and communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Sullivan Leisure Time Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Sullivan Leisure Time
Club; and

WHEREAS, In light of its commitment, dedication and successful
efforts, it is the custom of this Legislative Body to extend its highest
commendation to Sullivan Leisure Time Club; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Sullivan Leisure Time Club on
May 10, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Sullivan Leisure Time Club.
