MOURNING the death of Kelly N. Benczkowski, nurse,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her
community
WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Kelly N. Benczkowski, noting the
significance of her purposeful life; and
WHEREAS, Kelly N. Benczkowski of Cheektowaga, New York, tragically
passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the young age of 27; and
WHEREAS, As a student at Depew High School, Kelly was an active
member of Students Against Destructive Decisions and the Life Lessons
Club; she also served as a Class Officer and won first place at the ECIC
B Swimming and Diving Championships; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduation, Kelly went to John Carroll University,
where she continued to compete as a member of the Women's Swimming and
Diving team; and
WHEREAS, After earning her bachelor's degree in biology from John
Carroll University in 2012, Kelly pursued a career in nursing; and
WHEREAS, Kelly, who always had a smile on her face and was known for
making people laugh, distinguished herself in her profession by her
sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of her
community; she was also a compassionate animal lover and was devoted to
helping others; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by her grandmother, Dolores Liss and
grandfather, Lucian Benczkowski, Kelly is survived by her parents, Diane
and Kenneth Benczkowski; and two sisters, Dana and Tara; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Kelly is survived by her grandfather, Norbert
Liss; grandmother, Loretta Benczkowski; one aunt, Karen (Armand)
Uomoleale; one uncle, Ronald Ronald (Michelle) Benczkowski; and four
cousins, Brittany, Armand III, Luke and Zack; as well as her godson,
Zack Benczkowski; and
WHEREAS, Kelly, a young woman of incredible spirit and enthusiasm,
truly brought enduring honor to her family through her many
achievements; her memory will remain in the hearts of all those who had
the privilege of knowing her; and
WHEREAS, Kelly will be missed by the entire community and will
always be remembered for the joy she brought to her family and her
community; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Kelly leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the
passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she served
and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Kelly N. Benczkowski, nurse, distinguished citizen
and devoted member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Kelly N. Benczkowski.
