HONORING Cindy Wynne upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2016 Citizen of the
Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the
great State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Cindy Wynne upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2016 Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce
on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Niagara Falls,
New York; and

WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy and have truly made Grand Island a better place to live and work;
these individuals are the foundation and spirit of their great
community; and

WHEREAS, Cindy Wynne has continuously demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered at her
school; and

WHEREAS, Teachers like Cindy Wynne provide a tremendous service to
the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and

WHEREAS, Cindy Wynne has clearly had an enduring impact on the youth
of Grand Island, as well as on the community-at-large, and accordingly
merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedication to others;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cindy Wynne upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cindy Wynne.
