MOURNING the death of retired Police Officer James
Jack, distinguished citizen and devoted member of
his community

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who
dedicated their lives and careers to the service of others; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in mourning the death of
retired Police Officer James Jack who died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at
the age of 54; and

WHEREAS, James Jack began his illustrious career in law enforcement
with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department in January of 1990; he then
continued his service as a Records of Communication Officer; and

WHEREAS, Retired Town of Tonawanda Police Officer James Jack
distinguished himself by his sincere dedication and substantial
contribution to the welfare of his community; and

WHEREAS, His commitment to excellence, and his spirit of humanity,
carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charitable and
civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, James Jack lived his life with great dignity and genuine
grace, always demonstrating a deep and continuing concern for the
welfare of others in the great State of New York; he is survived by his
three brothers and one sister; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, James Jack leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the
passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he served
and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
pay tribute to the life of retired Police Officer James Jack, noting the
significance of his contributions on behalf of the citizens of this
noble Empire State; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of James Jack.
