HONORING the Catholic Charities Guild upon the
occasion of its designation for special recognition
by Community Maternity Services on May 2, 2017

WHEREAS, In the course of the evolving development of this Empire
State, if the ingredients of shared concern and responsive endeavor
combine in the commitment to society, there have emerged among the
distinguished citizens of the State of New York certain organizations
which warrant special recognition; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Catholic Charities Guild upon the occasion of its designation for
special recognition by Community Maternity Services at its 2nd Annual
Celebration of Life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Treviso by Mallozzi's,
The Italian American Community Center, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, The ladies of the Catholic Charities Guild are being
recognized for their ongoing commitment to the Mission of Community
Maternity Services and the work of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of
Albany; and

WHEREAS, The Catholic Charities Guild was established in 2009, by
former members of the St. Clare's Hospital Auxiliary in Schenectady, New
York, who were committed to maintaining friendships and continuing their
mission of supporting Health Care and Education after the closing of the
hospital in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Catholic Charities Guild has
demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the mission of Community Maternity
Services and the work of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany;
and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, through the years the members of the Catholic
Charities Guild have organized numerous events including luncheons,
fashion shows and vendor sales, raising significant funds to help
support this vital work; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished eight year history, the Catholic
Charities Guild has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Catholic Charities Guild is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Catholic Charities
Guild; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Catholic Charities Guild upon the occasion of its designation
for special recognition by Community Maternity Services on May 2, 2017;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Catholic Charities Guild.
