COMMENDING Marcie Lahr upon the occasion of her 30
years of dedicated service to Meals on Wheels of
Western New York

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, Marcie Lahr has given not only of her time and energies,
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marcie Lahr
upon the occasion of her 30 years of dedicated service to Meals on
Wheels of Western New York; and

WHEREAS, Marcie Lahr has been a site manager for the Lovejoy site
for Meals on Wheels; since February 23, 1987; as the longest tenured
site employee at this organization in Western New York, she supervises
50 active volunteers; and

WHEREAS, The Lovejoy site consists of nine routes, serving up to 108
clients a day with the help of up to 18 volunteers per day; and

WHEREAS, Due to her vibrant personality and astute management
skills, Marcie Lahr has numerous volunteers that have been with the
organization for years, including several that have reached 20 or more
years of volunteer service; and

WHEREAS, Under Marcie Lahr's luminous leadership, the Lovejoy site
has served more than 1,000 clients since 1987; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Marcie Lahr has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Marcie Lahr has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marcie Lahr upon the occasion of her 30 years of dedicated service
to Meals on Wheels of Western New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marcie Lahr.
