HONORING Julian Dawson upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals
Award by the Sullivan County Democrat

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Julian Dawson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and

WHEREAS, Julian Dawson was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of his hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
his profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and

WHEREAS, Affectionately known as Julie or JuJu, Julian Dawson was
born and raised in Monticello, New York, and cites his parents as his
main inspiration; his father, Edward, and his late mother, Julia,
instilled in him the value of productivity; and

WHEREAS, A 1999 graduate of Monticello High School, Julian Dawson
received his Associate's degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Sullivan in
December of 2002; he then worked as the Counselor and Director of the
Town of Thompson Summer Camp, and as a sales associate at a Bass Outlet
Store and the Monticello Boob Tube; and

WHEREAS, Julian Dawson is currently the Chief Professional Officer
of the United Way of Sullivan County, an organization he has served for
15 years and a title he has held for more than two years; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Julian Dawson acts as a Board Member for the CACHE Agency in
Liberty, Board Commissioner for the Monticello Housing Authority, and a
volunteer instructor for the Village of Monticello; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Julian Dawson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Julian Dawson.
