HONORING Albert Nocciolino upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2017
Distinguished Citizens Award by the Baden-Powell
Council Boy Scouts of America

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire
State with their strong contributions to the community and model
citizenship; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Albert
Nocciolino upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2017
Distinguished Citizens Award by the Baden-Powell Council Boy Scouts of
America at its 33rd Annual Broome County Awards Dinner to be held on
Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at The McKinley in Endicott, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes the noteworthy
and extraordinary leadership of distinguished citizens in the community;
the recipient of this auspicious award lives to serve and inspire the
youth of today, to lead, accept responsibility and care about principles
and causes beyond self-interest; and

WHEREAS, Albert Nocciolino has set a positive example for others and
has demonstrated concern and significant care for his community and has
rightfully earned accolades for his accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Born to Italian immigrants in Binghamton, New York, Albert
Nocciolino lived a humble life; during his childhood, he learned the
importance of serving his community from his parents; following his
dream of the arts, he attended the Wharton School at the University of
Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, After his graduation from college, Albert Nocciolino spent
over 40 years in the theater; he is the Founder and President of NAC
Entertainment, a diversified entertainment and theatrical company based
in Binghamton which specializes in the presentation of National Touring
Broadway shows in New York State; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, Albert Nocciolino has toured as a Producer,
Founding Member and President of the Independent Presenters Network, and
President and CEO of Famous Artists of Syracuse, New York; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Albert Nocciolino has produced and
co-produced Broadway shows and national touring shows throughout the
country including "Kinky Boots", "La Cage aux Folles", "Driving Miss
Daisy" and "Spamalot", many of which he received Tony Awards; for his
enduring contributions to society, he received the prestigious Buffalo's
Artvoive Artie Awards' Outstanding Contribution by a Visiting Theater
Professional; and

WHEREAS, Albert Nocciolino has been a Tony Award voting member since
1982; he currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Intra-Industry/Road

Presenters Committee and as Vice Chair of the Road of the Broadway
League, is a founding member and Chairman of the National Touring
Theatre Council and is a founding member and past President of the
Independent Presenters Network (IPN); and

WHEREAS, Albert Nocciolino has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Albert Nocciolino has served on
multiple boards including the Binghamton University Council, the
Binghamton Symphony and the Binghamton Summer Music Festival; he
currently serves as an active member on the Binghamton University
Foundation Board, the Lourdes Hospital Foundation, Binghamton Boys &
Girls Club Foundation and is President of Broome County Community
Charities; and

WHEREAS, For his exceptional service, Albert Nocciolino has received
the Civic Leader of the Year Award by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of
Commerce; in Buffalo he received the Artvoive Artie Award for
Outstanding Contribution by a Visiting Theater Professional, and has
received the Distinguished Lifetime Service Award and Outstanding
Achievement in Presenter Management by The Broadway League; and

WHEREAS, Albert Nocciolino is the proud father of four children,
Nina, Jenna, Gabrielle and Joey, and the loving grandfather of one
grandson, Seamus; and

WHEREAS, This remarkable man distinguished himself in his profession
and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the
welfare of his community; throughout his entire life, Albert Nocciolino
has stood constantly in dignity, good grace, and humor; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay
tribute to those individuals whose commitment and creative talents have
contributed to the entertainment and cultural enrichment of the citizens
of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Albert Nocciolino upon the occasion designation as recipient of
the 2017 Distinguished Citizens Award by the Baden-Powell Council Boy
Scouts of America; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Albert Nocciolino, President, NAC Entertainment.
