COMMENDING Dr. Deborah L. Fox upon the occasion of
her retirement after a long career in public
education and after eight-and-a-half years of
distinguished service as superintendent of the
Livingston Manor Central School District
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant achievements in the distinguished careers of those
outstanding educational leaders, whose dedication and accomplishments
have been instrumental in developing character and academic excellence
in the young people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Deborah L. Fox upon the occasion of her retirement after a
long career in public education and after eight-and-a-half years of
distinguished service as superintendent of the Livingston Manor Central
School District; and
WHEREAS, After more than three decades of steadfast and unwavering
service as an educator and administrator, Deborah L. Fox will officially
retire from the esteemed position of superintendent of the Livingston
Manor Central School District on Monday, January 2, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, Deborah L. Fox has held
numerous positions in the education field as executive secretary,
classroom teacher, workforce development coordinator, building principal
and assistant superintendent; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Deborah L. Fox was selected to be Livingston Manor
Central School District's superintendent; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure, Deborah L. Fox was instrumental in the
stewardship of the historic school building, the heart of the community
for eight decades; she is also proud of the school district's nearly
debt-free status and two major capital building projects; and
WHEREAS, Deborah L. Fox has continually demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of educational programs and opportunities offered at
Livingston Manor Central School District for the benefit of its faculty
and students, as well as for the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Educators like Deborah L. Fox provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and
WHEREAS, Deborah L. Fox has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of Livingston Manor Central School District, as well as on the
community-at-large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for
her impressive dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Jake Boyle, and
her three children, Taylor, Tyler and Savannah, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, In completing her service as an educator and administrator,
Deborah L. Fox leaves behind more than mere bricks and mortar; she
leaves behind a legacy to the residents of the Livingston Manor
community and to future generations of its students; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Deborah L. Fox upon the occasion of her retirement after a
long career in public education and after eight-and-a-half years of
distinguished service as superintendent of the Livingston Manor Central
School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Deborah L. Fox.
