HONORING Thomas R. Nattrasa upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692 on
April 30, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thomas R. Nattrasa upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No. 8692, to
be celebrated at its 47th Annual Loyalty Day Ceremony on Sunday, April
30, 2017, in Colonie, New York; and
WHEREAS, Loyalty Day is a commemorative holiday, upon the observance
of which Americans pause to celebrate our freedom and to reaffirm our
allegiance to the United States, while also remembering our
responsibilities to continue the legacy of liberty; and
WHEREAS, As part of the Loyalty Day, "The Celebration of
Patriotism," event, Thomas R. Nattrasa will be presented the 2016 Post
Patriot Pen Essay Award; and
WHEREAS, A young man of singular distinction, Thomas R. Nattrasa has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability,
establishing a high standard of excellence and purposefulness of life
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Thomas R. Nattrasa, in achieving this high honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Thomas R. Nattrasa continued success throughout his school
years and beyond; and
WHEREAS, With his sense of civic duty and his commitment to others,
Thomas R. Nattrasa represents the best development of the potential
which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas R. Nattrasa upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Robert L. Weininger Memorial V.F.W. Post No.
8692 on April 30, 2017; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Thomas R. Nattrasa.
