COMMENDING St. Peter's Children's Shop upon the
occasion of celebrating its 30th Anniversary on May
13, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State be reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend St. Peter's Children's Shop upon the occasion of celebrating its
30th Anniversary to be feted at an in-store event on Saturday, May 13,
2017, in Liberty, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded on Mother's Day in 1987, St. Peter's Children's
Shop was created to assist families who cannot afford to purchase new
clothes; and
WHEREAS, Staffed by volunteers twice a week, St. Peter's Children's
Shop is designed as a boutique to showcase the quality of the clothing
ensuring children have something they feel confident wearing; and
WHEREAS, With a large assortment of children's clothes, St. Peter's
Children's Shop donates to numerous organizations such as CACHE, CRMC,
Public Health Nursing, Safe Passage and Birth rite; and
WHEREAS, In addition, St. Peter's Children's Shop has shipped
clothes abroad during times of catastrophes; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous guidance of Dottie Bottaro, all children
in the Liberty community will have access to clean clothing; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend St. Peter's Children's Shop upon the occasion of celebrating its
30th Anniversary on May 13, 2017; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dottie Bottaro, Manager, St. Peter's Children's Shop.
