COMMENDING CapitalCare Medical Group upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the
Contributions to Healthcare Award by the Northeast
Kidney Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend CapitalCare Medical Group upon the occasion of its designation
as recipient of the Contributions to Healthcare Award by the Northeast
Kidney Foundation, to be celebrated at its 2017 Gift of Life Celebration
on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Capital Center in Albany, New York;
and

WHEREAS, The Northeast Kidney Foundation is a voluntary health
organization dedicated to preventing kidney disease and enhancing the
lives of all those affected; formed in 1974 as a philanthropic gift of
Edwin and Rhonda Sperber, the Foundation provides services to patients,
family members, the general public and clinical and academic
professionals throughout the Northeast; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Northeast Kidney Foundation is to
improve the quality of life of those affected by kidney disease and
related conditions throughout early identification, intervention,
prevention and support services; to promote organ donation; and to
empower those it serves to be an effective voice for better healthcare
at the local, state and federal levels; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1998 by physicians from 14 medical
practices, CapitalCare Medical Group has developed on the belief that a
physician-driven organization is uniquely positioned to deliver
high-quality, patient-centered healthcare; in this capacity, they are
focused on patient care, the patient experience and decisions which
directly affect the way it delivers care in their offices; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, CapitalCare Medical Group has grown to
more than 30 offices with 230 healthcare professionals; in total, its
staff exceeds 600; and

WHEREAS, CapitalCare Medical Group offers primary care services in
family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics and specialty services
in diabetes and medical nutrition therapy; in addition, it operates a
full-service clinical laboratory; and

WHEREAS, Institutions within the medical community who have made
sustained contributions to the progress of medicine and the improvement
of life are worthy and due the highest commendation for their

contributions to the well-being of all New York State residents; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend CapitalCare Medical Group upon the occasion of its designation
as recipient of the Contributions to Healthcare Award by the Northeast
Kidney Foundation; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to CapitalCare Medical Group.
