CONGRATULATING Helen Swift upon the occasion of
celebrating her 100th Birthday
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great
Nation and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Helen Swift upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Helen Swift was born on May 18, 1917, in Marshfield,
Missouri, to parents Paul and Rosa Galbrath Millhauser; she attended
Country School and High School in Cuba, New York, and Beauty School in
Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, Helen Swift was a Beautician for more than 50 years until
her retirement in 2000; and
WHEREAS, Helen Swift married her husband, Paul, and together they
are the loving parents of Mary and Donn; they have been further blessed
with six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Helen Swift's favorite pastimes include cooking, traveling
and gardening; she is recognized by all of those who know and love her
as a hard worker and being kind to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a
remarkable age and who have witnessed and celebrated the outstanding
innovations, cultural developments, and awesome achievements of this
Nation during the last century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Helen Swift upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Helen Swift.
