HONORING Jacob Opalinski upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Youth of the Year
Award by the Exchange Club of the Tonawandas on May
25, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jacob Opalinski upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Youth of the Year Award by the Exchange Club of the Tonawandas, to be
celebrated at its Youth of the Month Banquet on Thursday, May 25, 2017,
at the Buffalo Launch Club, Grand Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to a high school student who
displays outstanding academic achievement, as well as participation in
sports, school activities and service to the community; Jacob Opalinski
is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, The son of Brian and Danielle Opalinski, Jacob Opalinski
has served as President of his class each of his four years in high
school; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Opalinski is ranked third in his class, and is a
member of the Mento Club, the National Honor Society and the Youth
Court; in addition, he serves as a volunteer youth soccer coach; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Opalinski, in achieving this high honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; and

WHEREAS, With his sense of civic duty and his commitment to others,
Jacob Opalinski represents the best development of the potential which
is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jacob Opalinski upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Youth of the Year Award by the Exchange Club of the Tonawandas on
May 25, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jacob Opalinski.
