COMMENDING The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society
upon the occasion of hosting its 45th Annual
Scholarship Luncheon on June 4, 2017
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in New York State are
greatly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who
devote themselves to endeavors of family, faith, and community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who
demonstrate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society upon the occasion of
hosting its 45th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at
Antun's in Queens Village, New York; and
WHEREAS, For numerous years, members of the St. Pascal Babylon
Rosary Society have gathered together to praise and honor the Blessed
Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by reciting the rosary at least
once per month for the spiritual benefit of the community; and
WHEREAS, Members of the St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society meet each
month to express devotion to the Blessed Mother, pray the rosary
together, provide spiritual help and support for one another and also
the parish family, conduct social activities for the women of the
Society and the parish family, say a memorial mass for all deceased
Rosarians, give a scholarship award to a college bound young woman (or
women) of the parish once a year at its Annual Luncheon, recognize an
outstanding middle/high school female student(s) in the parish with a
monetary award, acknowledge a woman for her voluntary contributions to
the parish and community at large, and provide a yearly retreat for the
women of the Parish, as well as assist the Parish socially as well as
financially, when needed; and
WHEREAS, The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society may be justly proud
of its enduring history of support of the parish's needs, of its care of
fellow parishioners, and of the special sisterhood it fosters which has
nourished life-long friendships; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to extend its highest
commendation to the members of The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society for
their dedication and service to their community, faith and heritage;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society upon the occasion of
hosting its 45th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on June 4, 2017; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The St. Pascal Babylon Rosary Society.
