COMMENDING Michael Allen upon the occasion of his
retirement after 34 years of distinguished service
to Oswego County
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Michael Allen upon the occasion of his retirement after 34 years
of distinguished service to Oswego County; and
WHEREAS, Michael Allen began working for Oswego County in its
IT/Central Services Department; and
WHEREAS, In 1997 he began working as operations manager for the
E-911 office and has served as Director of the E-911 office for the past
eight years; and
WHEREAS, Michael Allen is credited with making the E-911 office a
top-notch emergency services unit and he was instrumental in rebuilding
and modernizing the county's emergency communications system; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Michael Allen kept Oswego County
technology up-to-date; he was a founding member of the State 911
Coordinators Association and helped develop standards for training that
are still relevant today; and
WHEREAS, He is leaving a legacy of improved work methods and
technology and has dedicated himself to helping others; and
WHEREAS, Michael Allen has clearly had an enduring impact on his
fellow workers, as well as the community-at-large, and accordingly
merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedication to others;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support their communities by
providing their skills and talents to helping others; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Allen upon the occasion of his retirement after 34 years
of distinguished service to Oswego County, and particularly to the
County E-911 Office, and to wish him continued success in all his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Michael Allen.
