COMMENDING New York Building Congress upon the
occasion of hosting its 96th Anniversary Leadership
Awards Luncheon on May 17, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend New York Building Congress upon the occasion of hosting its 96th
Anniversary Leadership Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at
the New York Hilton Midtown; and
WHEREAS, The New York Building Congress, a broad-based membership
association, is committed to promoting the growth and success of the
construction industry in New York City and its environs; and
WHEREAS, This illustrious association provides a unique forum to
advance an industry-wide agenda focusing on economic and infrastructure
investment, job creation, and professional exchange; these goals require
the dedicated involvement and cooperation of the contractors,
architects, engineers, unions, real estate managers, developers, and
owners who comprise the building community; and
WHEREAS, On behalf of more than 450 constituent organizations
comprising more than 250,000 skilled tradespeople and professionals, New
York Building Congress supports sound public policy, promotes productive
capital spending, encourages public/private partnerships, and evaluates
the implementation of major government projects; and
WHEREAS, To foster relationships and cooperation, New York Building
Congress sponsors consensus-building activities and encourages a free
exchange of ideas among leaders of industry associations, businesses,
and the public sector; and
WHEREAS, New York Building Congress also promotes competence and
productivity in the workplace, with special emphasis on public service,
teamwork, and partnership with government; its members are encouraged to
conduct business with honesty, integrity, and a spirit of fair
competition; and
WHEREAS, The success of New York Building Congress is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to New York Building
Congress; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
associations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend New York Building Congress upon the occasion of hosting its 96th
Anniversary Leadership Awards Luncheon on May 17, 2017; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to New York Building Congress.
