HONORING Jack Golden upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jack Golden
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was celebrated at its
Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Kuhl's
Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Jack Golden has distinguished himself as a young man of
superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Minisink Valley High School, in Slate Hill, New
York, Jack Golden plans to attend SUNY Binghamton in Binghamton, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Jack Golden is currently a member of the Key Club, National
Honor Society and the Minisink Film Society; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Jack Golden will be
volunteering at Minisink's varsity baseball and swim camps this summer;
and
WHEREAS, As the winner of a logo design contest held by Orange
County, Jack Golden's work will be featured on Veteran discount cards in
the local area; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Jack Golden
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Jack Golden may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and
WHEREAS, Jack Golden represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jack Golden upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and to
wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jack Golden.
