HONORING Carlos Maldonado upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES on April
27, 2017
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Carlos
Maldonado upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES which was
celebrated at its Fourth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Thursday, April 27,
2017, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Carlos Maldonado has distinguished himself as a young man
of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A senior at George F. Baker High School, in Tuxedo Park,
New York, Carlos Maldonado plans to major in horticulture at SUNY
Cobleskill in Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Carlos Maldonado has
been an integral member of the Tuxedo Jazz Ensemble as a beat-boxer and
drummer; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Carlos Maldonado is engaged in programming and
milling with the HAAS Mini-Mill and creating designs on AutoCAD for 3-D
printing; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Carlos
Maldonado has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Carlos Maldonado may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and
WHEREAS, Carlos Maldonado represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carlos Maldonado upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and
to wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carlos Maldonado.
